If you miss an exam or fail a paper, you are usually allowed to attend classes and appear for the exam in the next higher semester. However, there's a limit:

• Odd Semester Backlog: If you have an uncleared paper in an Odd Semester (Sem I, III, V), you can still go to the next Even Semester (Sem II, IV, VI). BUT, you must clear that backlog before joining the *next* Odd Semester.
  Example: Failed Sem I? You can join Sem II. But you must clear Sem I before joining Sem III.
• The 7th Semester Barrier: You absolutely cannot join the 7th Semester of the 4-year Programme unless you have successfully cleared ALL first Six Semesters with a CGPA of 4.0 or above. This is a hard stop!

🚀 Continuing to 4th Year (Semesters 7 & 8)

• Eligibility: You need a minimum CGPA of 4.0 after the 6th semester to join the 7th semester.
• Research Track: Students with a CGPA of 7.5 or higher after the 6th semester can opt for Honours with Research in the 7th and 8th semesters.
• Honours Track: Students with a CGPA of less than 7.5 (but 4.0 or more) will opt for the 4-Year Honours Course (without Research).
• Boosting Your CGPA: If you have a CGPA of 4.0+ but want to reach 7.5 for Research, you can re-appear in the 5th or 6th Semester exams to try and improve your score.

Final Degree Award (After 8th Semester)

• Full 4-Year Degree: Awarded if you complete Sem 7 & 8 with 30% marks in all papers AND achieve a final CGPA of 4.0 or more.
• Downgraded Degree: If you complete Sem 7 & 8, but your final CGPA is less than 4.0, you will only be awarded the 3-Year B.Com. Honours Degree (based on your 6th-semester performance). You get one chance to reappear in Sem 7/8 to boost your CGPA.
